Video Clip of Crawling

Here goes the clip of my boy crawling on 4.

I am using Police's "Every Breathe You Take" as my mobile ringing tone, so he is in love with it. That's how I attract him to crawl to me. Else, he will get distracted else where, especially craawling towards the TV cabinet!

Sean's Current Hair Style

This is the 2nd visit to the hair saloon on 26th Dec. Boy, this little man of mine, cried as if being beaten! LOL

When the hair dresser asked me what hair style I wanted on Sean, my answer was simple: anything! as long as he looks leng chai! LOL

This is the best hair style and fastest to cut on this crying baby.

In the process of potty train...

Nanny said Sean is able to 'signal' to her when he wants to poo. Thus, at 4+ months, nanny has been putting Sean on potty whenever she gets the signal. Well, at times it is true that this little fella really poo but of course, he gave false alarm too...

Here goes a photo of him, taken by his dear Che Che!

So far, I only get to 'catch' the signal once! I was trying my luck if I can get him to poo since he farted...he did actually!! LOL

His First Birthday Celebration With Daddy...

Last year, Sean was still in my tummy during Daddy's 2008 birthday.

This year, we have him with us to celebrate together.

Little taukeh has his own seat during the dinner but we needed to take turns to carry him. He just can't sit long and play with the same toy! Sean is just an average Joe, short concentration span is normal! No complain on this.

Oh ya, he is a throwing person. So the toys we need to give him, we need to tie it with the baby chair. Else, you will just need his care taker bending up and down picking up his toys!

From Sean to Daddy:
Happy Birthday, Daddy! I know I 'inherited' the loud voice from you (or was it claimed like what Yeh Yeh said that we are the real Khoo's??!!) that irritates you at time, but I love you as much as Che Che and Mummy, ok!!!

Sean @ 10-Months-Old

Boy, it's Sean's 10months old update

Vital Stats:
Height: Should be taller than 73cm as his PJ pants is shorter now.
Weight:More than 11kg.
Head Circumference: : bigger than 49cm kua!

Diet:
- Milk: Day time: 7oz every 3 hours interval on 2oz EBM + 5oz formula
Night time: direct nursing
- Solid: Porridge (Lunch) & Cereal/Puree (dinner)
- Snack: fruit (anything that is soft)& baby biscuit
- Only drink water if we spoon feed or give him sipping cup!

Development:
- I am very close to wean him off from my breast as he is able to take 2oz EBM mix with formula.

- When it comes to sleeping time at night, he started to look for me. Crawl to me and the next thing you see, he is moving around to look for the 'milk source'.

- He has a bad habit of wanted to touching bone/joints of our hand in order to go to sleep. You know, a way fo finding comfort. We are training him to do without it as we see some improvement.

- He is crawling on four and boy, he can crawl very fast now. Will blog about it in my next post with a video clip.

- He is able to recognize the faces of family members and nanny's family. He only let stranger carry him if he is in good mood. Else, he will turn his body away from you.

- He napped shorted hour now, just like his Che Che. :-( Can be as short as 1/2 hour.

- He loves watching cartoon, just like his che che. Not a good sign.

- He is able to stand unsupported for longer time now, easily 10 seconds.

Standing Unsupported

Boy memang boy, more active I suppose! Well, at least i see it on my boy!

Sean started to stand unsupported last week, at 9-month-2weeks-old!Well, it lasted for few seconds before he lost his balance and sit on his butt!! The thing this, it never stop him from repeating the same act - stand up, let go and sit down. So the 24X7 watching begins for us! Or at least when this boy is awake.

While we can't leave him alone because of this, he is actually a 'high needs attention seeking" baby boy!

He just simply can't be left alone. He can sit and stand inside his playpen for 30mins as long as he sees someone inside the room :-(

Another Teeth

Yay, another centre incisor of Sean is sprouting out. Can see the pearly white...

For The Love of...

The BUILDING BLOCKS!!!

This is the far most 'worth' investment that I made on the toys! LOL

Not only his Che Che loves it, my lil boy also fell in love with it! When I need to get things done, I will throw out the building blocks and let them play.

His Che Che will start to build something while Sean will start to throw. After 5 mins of throwing, he will start to "attach' his che che by grabbing whatever the che che is doing..

We Are Truly Siblings

Both Che Che and Di Di did the same thing, same playpen, same room when they were 8+ months. :-)

1) This is Che Che, Ern

2) This is Di Di, Sean

Did they look alike??!!

First Pearly White

This is a note for mummy on Sean's development.

My lil Prince had this first pearly white sprouted out. Yay!! About the same timing as his che che!

Happy 9-Months-Old

Vital Stats:
Height: 73
Weight:10.8kg
Head Circumference: :49cm

Diet:
- Milk: 6oz every 3-4 hours interval on full EBM OR 4oz EBM + 2oz formula
- Solid: Porridge (Lunch) & Cereal/Puree (dinner)
- Snack: fruit(apple, papaya and banana)& baby biscuit
- Seeing great improvement on him in drinking water!

Development:
- We started formula few weeks back since my supply had dropped tremendously. 1st feeding, he vomited all of the formula out after 45 mins. It was too much for his tummy to cope. So, his nanny suggested to add onto his EBM to transition him over. I agreed as I know it's not easy to just feed formula since Sean is already 8+ months old and able differentiate EBM and formula! The result - he accepted it!! (phew!) So now, we just need to continuously add more formula to become full formula in 1 feeding. Once he is able to reach that day, means I can 'simpan bukit' (Sau Shan in Cantonese) to be a moo moo cow!!! haha

- Little boy started to cruise few steps when we placed his onto his playpen (aka his bed also). Not stable but he is MOVING!!

- He is a light sleeper. Even the sound of opening the door lightly, it's enough to wake him up if no one sleep beside him. He is just like his che che! Need to have someone sleeping with him in order to sleep longer

- He is able to recognize family members and turn his back to stranger when they are trying to carry him!

- He can crawl very fast now even it's not crawling on four!

- He can't be left alone. The moment we turn away from his face, he started to whine and eventually CRY! Sigh!

- He loves to watch cartoon and his favourite is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. When the show played the 'hot dog dance', he smiled! Yes, only this show!

- He started to show temper to us at this age. When we take away his toy, he will scream and cry!

Holding Milk Bottle

{ Back-dated Post }

Last week as I was doing a housekeeping on my computer hard disc folder, I just realized there were several post that I forgot to post! *slap head* Sign of aging, seriously!!! I realized my memory is deteriorate after giving birth to 2 child. Guess they have 'taken' my 'memory space'!!

Anyway, Sean started to hold his milk bottle like 7+ months. He is able to hold the bottle almost 90% of the entire milk time, except towards the end of the feeding. We just need to help him to lift up the bottle and he will just empty it :-)

Milestones - One After Another

2 days ago, I blogged about Sean was able to sit up by himself from the crawling position. 2 days after, he surprised me with another key milestone - cruise

Yup, at 8 month 2 weeks and 1 day old, this lil man of mine started to make his first step (cruise to be exact). It all started when I placed him on the playpen as I need to get something out from the closet. I placed him in the middle of the pen and when I came back to take a look like 30seconds later, he is already at the other edge of the pen.

Then I placed him back to the middle again as I want to witness this with my own eyes. So, I took one of his toys and put it at the edge of the pen to attract him. Slowly, he made a very slow move, reached out his hand to grab the other edge of the pen, then his leg.

I was so happy because I get to see another of his great growth milestone.

Sit Up

Today marks another important milestone for Sean - he is able to sit up without any help.

I let him crawl on the floor and suddently, this little fella stopped, pushed himself up as if like he is crawling on four, then he lifted his bum bum down. The next thing I see is he is sitting up steadily already!

I was so happy because I am the first person that get to see him achieved another key milestone in his first year! Yay!!

{ This is for Sean to read and see when he grows up }

Dear Sean,

This is the video mummy took to record down how you climb up from a sitting position. Poor you, bang on the wooden edge of the bed few times before you can really climb up steadily.

Nevertheless, bravo to you! You were able to stand up by holding on something at 7+ months old. I blogged about it here.

When I leave for work...

This is the lovely smile that cheer me up every morning before I started off my battle in work!! LOL

I need to drop Sean to his nanny before I go to work. This little fellow likes playing his version of 'hide-and-seek' with me, ie to turn his head towards the driver's direction and smile to me!

Really bright up my day!

Happy 8-Months-Old

Hoho...another post on his monthly update.

Vital Stats:
Height: Should be taller than his last check up height, ie 71cm
Weight: 9.8kg (he lost 1kg after suffered from gastroentiritis just few days before)
Head Circumference: :48.5cm or more

Diet:
- He is still a breastfed exclusive baby. Drinks 6-7oz on 3-4hrs interval during day time and unknown on his first/last feed due to direct nursing.
- Love eating porridge.
- Started fruit - apple, papaya and banana. He prefers apple than the rest.
- Seeing great improvement on him in drinking water!

Development:
- My lil man is able to do commando crawl pretty fast now. Infect, he is a big fan of Superman because he likes to crawl towards our bed and 'dive down' to his Che Che's bed.

- He is lifting his knee up a little and pushing his arm straight. I think he is ready to crawl on four.

- He is able to stand up on his own by holding on something, like climbing up from his playpen. Oh dear, I can expect soon he will cross one of his legs over and jump out from the playpen.

- I think I can tell from his characters that he is someone who needs lots of freedom when he grows up. You know, a mother's instint! :-)

- Although he doesn't like to be controlled/restricted on his movement, he can't be left alone.

- He is a playful baby. As long as you came out with any funny sound and play with him, i tell you, he can steal your heart away.

- Because of the same reason, he needs a quiet environment to sleep. Else, he will look around and stay awake until passed his nap time. Then, he became cranky pula. *roll eyes*

- He adores his Che Che very much, to the extend whatever the Che Che is holding, he wants a share.

不甘寂寞的男孩

{ Can you see the watery eyes from this boy??!! }

Sean is a high demand seeking boy, at least to me!

...He hardly can't play by himself for long

...He can't be left alone but needs to see someone near him

...He can't play the same toy for long.

...He doesn't like his own toy but his che che's.

...He will cry if he sees everyone walk out from the room

...When his sleeping time is up, he starts to look for me - to nurse and tug him to sleep.

...He can't sit in his stroller for long. When we first introduced the stroller to him, it lasted only for 1min before he started to scream. You read right, only for 1 min!! Things get better after 2months of 'intensive training', now can last for 30+ mins if he was given toys or something to play.

Clap Oh Clap

When Sean was a little baby, he cried when he woke up from his afternoon nap, sort of a way of telling us he is awake!

Things changed ever since he started to crawl.

Ever since he started to turn from his back to tummy, we no longer put him on our bed (if unattended) but on the mattress that we lay on the floor. When he gets up, he no longer cry but 'secretly' crawl to the edge of the mattress and play.

What is he playing?

He clap and kiss the floor! *slap head*

Thrust me, he loves this very much!

The Love of Grandpa & Grandson

Sean loves his Kong Kong the most(not that he doesn't love us) when it comes to play time. Kong Kong can make him giggle non stop until we have to stop Kong Kong! Can you believe Sean will start to smile to Kong Kong even Kong Kong just look at him??!!

I guess they must be good pal in their previous life! LOL

Climbing Up!

This is a note for Sean to read when he grows up.

At 7 months, 2 weeks and 5 days old, Sean has successfully climb up all by himself by holding the edge of the bed as a support This marked another growth milestone of Sean but the nightmare begin for his caretakers!

Last night, we were placing him on Ern's bed (which is just next to our king size bed) to let him play with his sister. Then, our little boy hold on to the edge of our bed and pushed himself up. It lasted for <5 seconds!

The Little Commando

CRAWL..

Sean and his Che Che almost crawl (the commando way) at the same timing, ie at 7+ months. Check out here for his che che's crawling back in Jan 2007!

Sean is using more on his hand to move his body, which his che che is using more on her knee to move! Obviously, the little boy has stronger arm, or rather I should say heavy bum bum to move! LOL

PS: I was using the lantern to 'encourage' Sean to crawl. Obviously the background little girl's noice is none other than his Che Che.

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

Sit Unsupported

At 7+ months, Sean is now able to sit unsupported. Unless he needs to grab something by bending his body (in which he lost the balancing), otherwise I can say his balancing skill is consider quite well.

As he is unable to 'transition' himself smoothly from sitting to lying position, what he did was, he "plunge" instead! So, all we hear is 'pok' since he is quite a big size baby.

On His Walker

His Che Che was on walker (aka her feeding chair), so he is on walker too!
Most children started to go backwards when you place them on walker. No different on Sean. He started to move backward after few days of introducing the walker to him.
At times when we are taking care of Sean alone, walker comes in helpful as we can placed Sean in it while getting our things done (eg heat up milk).
To consider whether to get a walker for your child, read more from here. Obviously the cons are more than the pro. You be the judge!

Milk Time!

I just recalled I didn't take a photo and blog about how Sean drinks his milk! This is more of the record keeping for Sean to read later.

Sean perspired a lot when he was a baby (still is). Just 30 mins right after we showered him, his body started to have the 'sticky' feel as this little fellow moved non stop when he is awake.

Because of that, his nanny started to train him to sleep on the bouncer to drink his milk in order to less less body interaction when he was like 2mos. Yes, it's sleep without any pillow support.

As Sean spent most the the bottle feeding times at nanny's, so he sort off get used to that routine. Over the weekend when he is with us, we have to follow that as he won't drink his milk if we placed him on our lap (unless real hungry)!

At 6+ months, he is able to hold his own bottle when he is seriously drinking his milk. When he is almost full, he lost his focus and dropped the bottle.

Unlike his Che Che, he dislike drinking water despite we started since the day we introduce bottle to him. This little man of mine knows how to push away the water bottle when he was 4+mos.

Chill Out!

While Che Che was learning how to ride her bicycle, Didi chilled out by sitting on his walker!

Sean @ 7-Months-Old

My lil man turns 7-months-old today.

Vital Stats:
Height: 71cm
Weight: 10.8kg
Head Circumference: :48.5cm

Diet:
- He is still a breastfed exclusive baby. Drinks 6-7oz on 3-4hrs interval during day time and unknown on his first/last feed due to direct nursing.

- Started off cereal on his solid and now moving into porridge. Haven't really introduce meat/fish to eat but just put them (meat) in his porridge to get the 'sweetness'.

- Started fruit - only on apply and he loves it! He is able to finish 1/2 average size apple.

- Dislike drinking water! :-( We are still making it a habit to feed him water right after milk (except direct nursing) and few sips in between.

Development:
- He is like his Che Che, nap very short hour lately (unlucky me!) like 1-1.5hrs each time. He naps 4-5 times a day and his nap can be as short as 20mins!!

- Finally, he is able to turn both sides from back to tummy and vice verse.

- He is able t0 sit unsupported.

- He adores his Che Che and laugh along with her.

- He is showing sign of crawling (the commando type) as we are seeing him lifting his knee up and tried to move his body to the front.

- He is able to move front and back(mostly) in his walker

- He can't be left alone. The moment he sees no one within his sights, he will scream his lungs out.

- For the same reason, he can't sleep long at his own bed. So he co-sleep with me, which enable him to sleep through the night. For this reason, I don't mind. :-)

- When we eat out, he can't sit alone for long in his high chair but want us to carry him. The carry is not sitting on our lap but walk around type! Argh! High demand baby.

- We are slowly training to be more independent by putting toys to him in order to divert his attention to look for us.

- He doesn't like sitting in his stroller and will scream and cry even less than 1 min. So we have to take turn to entertain this boy! (Note: It's my goal to train this fella sit in his stroller!)

- He is able to reach out both his hands and move his body towards our direction whenever we clapped our hands to ask him if he wants us to carry

- Ever since we started him on solid, he no longer poo everyday but every alternate days or sometimes dragged till 3 days. No hard stool so far but PD advised us to increase his fibre intake.

- His nanny is able to catch his sign of poo (he makes a sound) and able to bring him to sit on potty to do his big business. I didn't do that with him because I can't stay with him all the time.

- He has better hand motor skill as he is able to hold his rattle and soft toys firmly.

He Turns Both Sides Finally

So far, I was able to be the first witness/do Sean's several growth milestones thus far:

1) Witness his first turn from back to tummy on the left side
2) Witness his first turn from tummy to back on the right, then on the left on different days
3) Feed his first solid
4) Able to see him rotate his body on his tummy in 360 degrees.

Being a full time working mum, it's not easy to catch the timing as your child actually spend more time with the nanny more than the parents. Even I take care of Sean (so as his sister) myself every night, the hours spent with them is limited. With no maid at home, you can imagine a mad mummy managing 2 kids + house chores. Thank goodness their Daddy is a GREAT helper. Can't imagine without his help, what will happen to the mad mummy! LOL

Sean's First Solid

{ Back-dated Post }

I was lucky enough to feed Sean his first ever solid because he turned 6mo on Sunday (16th Aug), in which under my care.

From previous experience taking care of Ern, we knew baby must learn how to swallow before they really know how to eat! So, I have decided to feed him cereal instead of home cooked porriage for several reasons:

1. Since it's just at the learning stage for Sean, his serving will be very small. No point cook as in the end, most of the porriage will just stick to the side of the slow cooker. He may just ate 2 tablespoon only.

2. You just don't know how well your baby can swallon. Just cereal is just good because those unfinish one, we can disregard.

3. Easy to prepare. Just add EBM onto it, viola!

Well, Sean's face turned SOUR when he first tried his first solid, just like the picture. After like <10 teaspoons of cereal, he complained and lost his patience. Guess timing wasn't right also...

Lifting My Leg

I scrapped this layout last week but didn't have the time to blog about it until now. In you are able to read from the layout, Sean can't lift up his own legs back then.

BUT...

He is able to do it right now as I am writing this. It just happened 2 days again. Yipee, my boy is achieving another milestone, lifting both of his own legs, hold them and swing like a sea-saw.

Sit Up

When I shared with WX/WN Mummy about Sean's weight sometime back, she said Sean would be fast in sitting up. Being a big size baby, means he has big "dimension" on his butt too in which, he can have better balance! LOL

It is indeed true!

About 1 week ago, my little man is able to sit quite stable on his own. Unless he sways his body left and right to grab something, else he can sit unsupported for like 30-40seconds now. If we let him sit and lean on the sofa, he can stay there for like 5mins before slip down.

The Moments...

For those of you who have children, you would agree with me our children just grow too fast, especially those under 5 years old! Many a times, as we tried to recall what was the last growth milestone our child had achieved, they surprised us with another one!

One thing I always forgot to blog about it's the 'smell' on Sean. Now that I remembered, I must pen it down before it is totally slipped my mind again!

Honestly, Sean doesn't have much of the usual baby smell since on the day he was born. His forehead/soft spot has this weird smell, ie the 'after sweat" smell. Even after we shampooed his hair, the smell of his shampoo can probably last him like 2+ hours.

As he grows older, the smell is getting less but turn back to the baby smell. *yippee* I just love to smell it because I know once he started to take full solid, the smell will be gone!

How i wish there is a gadget that can help us to 'record' down on smell, just like how camera and video work. LOL!

Playing With Toes

Approximately 3 weeks back, our little men discovered his lovely toe to be his 'playmate'. Ever since, no turning back but a scene of 'one hand holding one toe' on Sean. LOL

Strangely, he only knew how to play on his left toe. Never on the left side unless we helped him by lifting both his legs near him. You know, the position where we are trying to change his diaper, with "one hand holding two legs" type.

He needs few attempts before he can grasp his toe if he is in the lying position. Big tummy, I guess! *grin* However if we let him sit on our lap, he will hold it without much a problem.

Well well, this is every babies development stage. I don't remember I captured this for his Che Che. :-(

Half Year Has Gone...

Boy, it has been 6 months since I delivered Sean..time really flies. At 6 months:

Vital Stats:
Height: 68cm
Weight: 9.8kg
Head Circumference: :48cm

Diet:
- He started solid today. Will blog about it in a separate post.
- He is still a breastfed exclusive baby. Drinks 6-7oz on 3-4hrs interval.

Development:
- His weight started to stable down, no longer soar like rocket.

- Sleep through for like 2+ months already. The earliest feed is 6am! Yipee for Mummy, no more getting up for midnight feed although i still get up (by nature) to check on the kids.

- He has dry and sensitive skin. So we need to use special soap and cream on his body.

- He is at the stage of lifting his feet and play with it. Strangely, only the left feet.

- He no longer sucks his thumb but the index finger. So if he does that right after the milk, he tends to vomit (mouthful). :-(

- He can't be left alone. When we are out of his sight, he will scream or whine.

- He is able to sit onto his car seat without crying if his Che Che is with him at the back.

- He started to recognize people..When we (me and nanny) walked away even we have someone around, he will whine. So, we have to distract him.

- He is not showing any sign of turning over from his tummy to back. Guess too heavy for his weight.

- He only turns 1 side, ie from to the left.

- He is able to lift his head up by using both his hands to support his weight like 20 mins.

- He can "tell the time" when the time is up, especially night time. By 8.30pm, he started to whine but if we bring him back to the room and change into his PJ, he is ok. Good for us during weekdays because we can prepare both kids to bed early. However during weekends, we need to eat out early so that we can come back home just before pass 8.30pm. With the recent outbreak of A(H1N1), we hardly eat out but just tau pau.

- He likes to stand although he can't stand by himself. When we lift him up from sleeping position, he tends to push his leg muscle to get himself ready for the stand up position. Argh...not yet learn how to sit but already want to stand!!!

- He likes to play with his Che Che. I think Che Che makes him laugh out the most, even she is just singing and dancing. I can imagine they will be good play mate later (don't remind me the fighting part!)

- When we take our house keys, he will get all excited by kicking and moving. He knows 'taking keys = kai kai'..

- He likes to play the 'chase me' with his Che Che when we are at the aisle of Poh Poh's house. He will shout and move his whole body.

轩轩的"便当" - Sean's Bento

This is a real life conversation between me and my manager. It happened few weeks back when we were suppose to have a phone meeting to have a short conversation on my work progress. Talking about phone meeting, my manager is a Taiwanese and based in Taipei. At times, I do add in some Chinese words when I am stuck in expressing myself in English.

Me: Sorry for postponing our meeting 15mins later. I needed to go to Mother Room to express milk (she knew I breastfeed).
Mgr: It's ok, I can understand
Me: Thanks, I am like a 母牛 (cow), in producing milk for my son.
Mgr: In Taiwan office, there are 3 breastfeeding mothers. They jokingly said they take turns to make "便当" (bento) for their kids!!!

I burst into laughter when I hear this! It is indeed true that we (the breastfeeding mothers) are making "bento" (aka EBM) for our baby.

Well, this post is for my own record keeping as I know for sure, if I don't pen it down, I will forget.

For breastfeeding mothers, you would totally agree with me breastfeeding is something never come in easy, especially when you are a full time working mother. The cycles of "Pump, chill, storage, frozen, defroze" ends only when we totally stop breastfeeding literally.

Being the 2nd timer in breastfeeding, my milk flow started to come in on Day 2 right after delivered Sean. Very strong let down but nothing came out (duct still unopened). It was that bad until on the 4th day, i was totally engorged not only on the 2 McB but also my armpits. :( I tried to hand press it out but failed. In the end, I went to see lactation specialist and gotten the trained nurses to help me to express out at 1am. After suffering for 1+ week of engorgement, it went off and that's when the so called "smooth sailing' phase kicked in.

From past experience, I know the first 3 months is the best time to build your 'inventory' since baby milk consumption is low and the mother's milk flow is not really stabilize. I 'diligently' pumped right after each feed and built my 'inventory.

It has been almost 6 months I breastfeed Sean exclusively (except those few days he was on formula to determine if he has breast milk jaundice) and infect, I get to give 2-3oz daily to his Che Che too.

Below are my current 'inventory level", ~ 4 weeks stock available kept in 2 houses in 3 fridge.

1) Fridge # 1: Occupied the whole freezer

2) Fridge # 2 - Occupied 2/3 of the lower deck.

3) Fridge # 3 - fridge at Poh Poh's house with 1 big red plastic bag with ~40oz EBM
* sorry, forgot to take photo*

The highest record for Sean is taking 6.5 weeks ago EBM when he was 3+ months. After I reduced 1 pumping session, slowly the 'inventory' went down. Also, my lil taukeh increased his milk consumption over the months. Hence, the "output" is more than the 'input" !!!

I didn't push myself hard in keeping the EBM but just do what's best within my capability. I told myself not to push too hard on it because I know 'The Day' (introduce formula + lower immune system + breastfeeding) will come eventually.

I know I did my best to my children, no regret! *self pat on my shoulder*

Scrapbooking Marathon...

It was like a marathon for me to scrap on the kids lately :-) Momentum was there, so I just don't want to lose it.

1) I started to buy more neutral colors pattern papers so that it's easier for me to mix and match on Ern or Sean's pictures.

2) I love American Craft pattern papers - bright colors

3) I used the left overs patterned papers to complete this layout. So, B&W photo works!

4) Same thing, used the left over papers and my new stash of Thickers

5) I love Jenni Bowlin's card. The embellishments were bought in Bangkok's JJ Weekend Mkt

Bumbo Chair!

I was so happy when Yan/Shan Mummy agreed to borrow me her Bumbo Chair. I didn't get one for Ching Ern back then because when I got to know this, Ern was like 8+ mo.

When Sean started to have better head control like few weeks back, I quickly took out the Bumbo Chair because I got to know baby outgrown the chair very fast.

To my disappointment, Sean can't fit in anymore!!!! Yes, you read that correctly- can't fit. His thigh is too big to fit into the Bumbo Chair. He can get into the seat but after 10mins sitting on it, you get to see both of his thighs turned red (at the side) :-(

So, I 'kuai kuai' pack it back to the box and ready to return to Yan/Shan Mummy. Now, i need to get a new chair for Sean as he is ready to take solid 2 weeks from now.

More Scrapbook

Sean sleeps longer in the morning, especially right after his shower and milk. His longest record was from 10am - 2.30pm!

I take this opportunity to scrap because I have all the time to myself. What's more, no interruption in between that break the momentum. Hubb takes Ern for lunch at this hour and I normally ask him to pack for me. This is really my "me only' time.

Over the weekend, I did 4 at one go. Simple one with just cut and paste. Feel "satisfied" :-)

1) I like "Black & White" photo as it always works well for any color.

2) I always like Maya Road's turn as it comes with the date and month.

3) I was inspired on the idea by a scrapbooker but I can't recall where I saw it.

4) I like the robotic pattern paper. Something REAL boyish.

My Tribute to The Hoyt

I swam competitively when I was a child and almost went into triathlon during high school time.I know how hard it is to get yourself train do complete a triathlon because it needs:

1.5km of swimming
40km of biking
10km of running

When a person successfully completed a triathlon, normally would want to go for Ironmen at least once in their life in which,

3.8km of swimming
180km of biking
42.2km of running (equal to full marathon)

For a person to complete an Ironmen, it is never easy because you need to be VERY well trained both physically and mentally.

Can you believe there is a father completed an Ironmen by bringing his physical challenged son along?

- The father swims by pullig a boat with his son on it
- The son sits at the front of the bike when the father cycles.
- The father runs with the son on the wheelchair.

This is really TOUCHING and I shed my tears after watching the clip. The father is not only a daddy but he is a HERO!
*hats off to Team Hoyt*

Counting My Blessing

Over the past few 2 days, I have heard 3 cases of sad story on baby/toddler from my friends, which reminded me to count my blessing (not that I am not) and reach out more to those that need help.

Case # 1:
Baby A is a 8mos baby boy. He was born with weak hearing on his right ear, a hole in the heart and 2 of his spine cord is a little out of shape. When PD told his mother (whom is my ex-colleague) about all these, the mother collapsed and went to post natal depression. It took the mother 6mos to recover and accepted the fact. After treatment from Singapore and KL, the respective PD had assured her the spine cord is normal (since he has good head control), his hearing is weak but can hear (although only 20%) and the hold in the heart will close up once the boy reach 2yo.

Case # 2:
A toddler's head stopped growing after reaching 15mos. The boy born normal but this only occurred lately. As of now, can't detect what was the reason and the mother quit her job but to rush everywhere to seek help.

Case # 3:
Baby boy B born just 2 days after Sean. Just right after baby turned 4mo, he has been crying non stop. After checking, found out one of the small vein at his head burst. Did operation but later found out the blood circulated all around the head as baby had slow wound healing process. Did another operation to remove the blood and baby is current in GH for monitoring and recovery

I shared the stories with Poh Poh and she agreed with me nothing is more important than being healthy.

Start counting your blessing!

Argh!!!

A friend bought Sean a suit from US. She jokingly said must snap Sean in the suit she bought for her.

I love the color of the outfit. The orange color is so striking!!

So, I put him on the bed so that I can take the whole body.

Turned on flash light, he closed his eyes

Off the flash, he smiled but picture turned out blur

Half way through, Che Che decided to sneak in.

So, might as well take both kiddo in a picture. Asked both of smile, they showed me serious face.

I gave up on Sean but asked Che Che to smile. Sean pula closed his eyes because of the flash light AGAIN!!!

ARGH!!!! *pulling hair*
