My Tribute to The Hoyt

I swam competitively when I was a child and almost went into triathlon during high school time.I know how hard it is to get yourself train do complete a triathlon because it needs:

1.5km of swimming
40km of biking
10km of running

When a person successfully completed a triathlon, normally would want to go for Ironmen at least once in their life in which,

3.8km of swimming
180km of biking
42.2km of running (equal to full marathon)

For a person to complete an Ironmen, it is never easy because you need to be VERY well trained both physically and mentally.

Can you believe there is a father completed an Ironmen by bringing his physical challenged son along?

- The father swims by pullig a boat with his son on it
- The son sits at the front of the bike when the father cycles.
- The father runs with the son on the wheelchair.

This is really TOUCHING and I shed my tears after watching the clip. The father is not only a daddy but he is a HERO!

Counting My Blessing

Over the past few 2 days, I have heard 3 cases of sad story on baby/toddler from my friends, which reminded me to count my blessing (not that I am not) and reach out more to those that need help.

Case # 1:
Baby A is a 8mos baby boy. He was born with weak hearing on his right ear, a hole in the heart and 2 of his spine cord is a little out of shape. When PD told his mother (whom is my ex-colleague) about all these, the mother collapsed and went to post natal depression. It took the mother 6mos to recover and accepted the fact. After treatment from Singapore and KL, the respective PD had assured her the spine cord is normal (since he has good head control), his hearing is weak but can hear (although only 20%) and the hold in the heart will close up once the boy reach 2yo.

Case # 2:
A toddler's head stopped growing after reaching 15mos. The boy born normal but this only occurred lately. As of now, can't detect what was the reason and the mother quit her job but to rush everywhere to seek help.

Case # 3:
Baby boy B born just 2 days after Sean. Just right after baby turned 4mo, he has been crying non stop. After checking, found out one of the small vein at his head burst. Did operation but later found out the blood circulated all around the head as baby had slow wound healing process. Did another operation to remove the blood and baby is current in GH for monitoring and recovery

I shared the stories with Poh Poh and she agreed with me nothing is more important than being healthy.

Start counting your blessing!

Argh!!!

A friend bought Sean a suit from US. She jokingly said must snap Sean in the suit she bought for her.

I love the color of the outfit. The orange color is so striking!!

So, I put him on the bed so that I can take the whole body.

Turned on flash light, he closed his eyes

Off the flash, he smiled but picture turned out blur

Half way through, Che Che decided to sneak in.

So, might as well take both kiddo in a picture. Asked both of smile, they showed me serious face.

I gave up on Sean but asked Che Che to smile. Sean pula closed his eyes because of the flash light AGAIN!!!

ARGH!!!! *pulling hair*

Rattle

This is just an ordinary rattle. Infect, it wasn't new but from his sister.

BUT....

My little boy LOVES this rattle very much. God knows why but every time he sees it, he gets very excited!!! Yes, VERY is the right word to describe his excitement.

So for now, this is what we used to distract him from turning from his back to his tummy, especially whenever we try to change him.

We Love Watching Him...

In his romper. :-)
- Kau Foo said he looked like a weight lifter
- Poh Poh said how come all of his rompers are body hugging type??!! (even they are meant for 9-12mos)
- Sean moves a lot. If we put him on shirt and shorts, in very short time the shirt will come out from the pants and expose his tummy. With romper, no need to worry about this.
- I like seeing his 'drumstick'.
- I like seeing baby in romper.

During Che Che's 3rd Birthday.

We forgot to take Sean's basket and stroller to the restaurant because:

- We invited Sean's babysitter to the dinner as well. So, Sean went with her instead of me fetching him

- Both basket and stroller are in my car and on that night, we drove Daddy's car

- It was too late for us to return to collect.

In the end, we discovered we can use Che Che's car seat (soon will be Sean's) that is placed in Daddy's car.

With no support, Daddy came out with this by using whatever available from the restaurant:

Of course the boy didn't sleep the whole night, except a quick nap (like 15mins) in my arms. The rest of the time, we (almost everyone) took turn to carry him.

When we placed him on the car seat, lasted for like 20mins before this little cried!

Sean Turns 5mos

At 5 mos:

Vital Stats:
Height: 68cm
Weight: 9.5kg
Head Circumference: 44cm

Development:
- Feeding: Still on Mummy's milk exclusively. Drinks 6-7oz every 4hrs via bottle.

- He has developed much stable feeding time for the past 2 weeks. Last feeding is ~ 9-10pm and the next feeding would be 5-6am. So, I have considered this is a sleep through already! ( I hope I don't jinx this by saying so!!)

- He is overweight but being a breastfed baby, he has the 'license' to be overweight. *grin*

- He is able to roll from his back on to his stomach, just 5 days before he turned 5 mos.

- He has good head control now.

- He puts EVERYTHING in his mouth.

- He has shown interest in attempting to reach to his feet and play with his toe. If we pulled that for him, he would giggle.

- He can cried in an angry and sad voice already. We can tell whether he is whining and crying.

- He is able to put his weight on his forearms and lift his head and chest up when lying on his stomach.

- He can pick up his rattle occasionally.

- His best friend is his Kong Kong because he would laugh out loud the most when Kong Kong played with him. Trust me, he really laughed even before Kong Kong started to play with him.

- He drools a lot!

- He has developed dried skin almost all over his body. We now need to shower him with Oilatum Soap Bar, followed by applying Balneum Intensive Cream. Right after we did that for 3 days, his condition improved a lot. Although his skin is ok now, we were asked by PD to continue until he is a little bigger. Breastfeed will help to speed up in stabilizing his skin condition as he grows older.

- He has no problem sitting in his car seat every morning when I sent him to babysitter. However, he cried sadly every night during our journey back home. Don't know why.

On the 11th July 2009...

Finally, Sean turned over from his back to his tummy. 5 days before he turns 5-month-old.

Another milestone, which I am so happy to write it down because I was the first person that get to see this.

Sean's First Professional Shots

The photographer came to our house as early as 7am to set his gears up before the photo shots. Yup, that early because Sean cooperate the most, smile the most in the morning. I woke him up at 7.20am and the whole photographing session last for ~ 1hr.

By the time the photographer left, Sean knocked out for his short morning nap. :-)

Some of the shots that I like:
1) It was my idea on this! :-)

2) I like this cheeky smile

3)Mummy is all sweat. So have to blur out the left side.

4) The "Ah Song"(blur) look?

No Poo Poo

This is a note to mummy to record down on Sean's development.

For first time ever, Sean didn't poo yesterday. It's normal for breastfed exclusive baby. However, it never happened to his Che Che.

BUT....

It only happened for 1 day...today he poo again!!
